Twenty to 25 percent of all flood insurance claims come from areas with a low-to moderate risk of flooding, and the majority of residents in those areas do not have flood insurance coverage." In this video package, David maurstad talks abour flooding risks and what your viewers can do to prepare. Honey: A Healthy Alternative to Cough Medicine
Millions of children suffer with colds and viral respiratory infections.
While many parents treat the symptoms with over-the-counter drugs, the FDA warns against these products for children under the age of six.
Welcome relief could be as close as your kitchen cabinet!
For children over the age of one, a simple mixture of raw honey and warm water can provide relief of sore throats, coughing spells and sleep disturbances.
Honey is known for its anti-viral and mucus releasing qualities and builds immunity - -just like grandma advised!
That's why the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, a not-for-profit organization, joins healthcare professionals nationwide in alerting parents to the effectiveness of using honey to help children overcome a cold while avoiding potentially harmful medications.
In fact a 2007 study from Pennsylvania State University found children and parents reported honey to be helpful with cough and sleeping problems related to colds.

DETROIT — The Internal Revenue Service and its partners will open locations around Michigan on Super Saturday, March 29. Super Saturday is is a one-day event and part of an extensive effort to reach Americans who are eligible for the economic stimulus payment but who normally are not required to file an income tax return.
Super Saturday--
IRS offices throughout Michigan will be open on Super Saturday to prepare the simple Form 1040A for people who are filing a return solely to receive their stimulus payment. IRS partners such as United Way of Michigan, the Southeast Michigan Regional Asset Building Coalition and dozens of others also are also making special efforts on Super Saturday to reach out to those who normally are not required to file a tax return.
"There are many people in Michigan, for whom filing a tax return is not routine. But this year, filing a 2007 tax return is the only way to receive an economic stimulus payment. We are committed to getting the word out so nobody misses out on their economic stimulus payment. Super Saturday is one way the IRS and its partners are working to ensure everyone eligible receives a stimulus payment," said IRS Territory Manager Ramondo Gee.
Who Qualifies--
Millions of Americans who are not required to file federal income tax returns may be eligible for a $300 payment ($600 for married couples) if they have at least $3,000 in qualifying income. Qualifying income is defined as any combination of earned income such as wages, nontaxable combat pay and certain benefits from Social Security, Veterans Affairs and Railroad Retirement. IRS employees and volunteers will help prepare the Form 1040A returns for low-income workers, retirees, disabled veterans and others. IRS personnel also will visit nursing homes and similar locations to prepare returns.
